GSP Aurelius Maximus to Stud in Louisiana
GSP Aurelius Maximus (Pioneerof the Nile–La Reina, by A.P. Indy) has been retired from racing and will enter stud in 2021 at Jay Adcock's Red River Farm in Coushatta, Louisiana. The deal was brokered by Andrew Cary of Cary Bloodstock. The 5-year-old, who will stand in a partnership between Nathan Granger and Stonestreet Stables/George Bolton/Peter Leidel, will stand for $2,000 live foal, with consideration to approved mares.
Who’s Your Pick? Andrew Cary
As we approach the end of the calendar, we turn our attention to the incoming sire class of 2021. We asked several judges who their favorite incoming sire is for next year and if there are any other stallions, new or otherwise, that have caught their eye as under-the-radar picks.
ANDREW CARY, Cary Bloodstock : McKinzie (Street Sense), $30,000, Gainesway
This is a very strong group of incoming freshman sires and it's very hard to just pick one, but I am a huge fan of McKinzie. I think had he retired in a “normal” year, he would have stood for more.
Coteau Grove Goes To $500K for Contributing at KEENOV
Continuing with their high level of activity at the Keeneland November Sale, Louisiana-based Coteau Grove Farms went to $500,000 to acquire hip 958, the 6-year-old Contributing (Medaglia d'Oro–Taegu, by Halo) from the Hill 'n' Dale Sales consignment. Cary Bloodstock's Andrew Cary signed the winning ticket on behalf of Coteau Grove's Keith and Ginger Myers..
Cary, Coteau Grove Strike in Keeneland's Third Session
Andrew Cary, acting on behalf of Coteau Grove Farm, struck early during the Nov. 11 third session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, picking up quality mares at his price point.
For $350,000 Cary purchased Gold Souk , a daughter of Medaglia d'Oro in foal to Speightstown . Produced from the stakes-place Artax mare Glittering Tax , 3-year-old Gold Souk is a half sister to three-time grade 1 winner Miss Temple City and to grade 3 winner Pricedtoperfection .

“I bought a Medaglia mare in foal to Speightstown earlier (Hip 645), so I thought why not make it a double,” said Cary, who has been quite active buying mares on behalf of Coteau Grove all week. “She has an awesome pedigree. Speightstown is showing everyone again this year how awesome he is with Nashville. Medaglia d'Oro should be a leading broodmare sire for years. She has a huge pedigree. Her sister produced an Oaks winner. She is gorgeous, she can run and to me she's the whole package.”
Last Saturday, No Parole became just the eighth horse bred in Louisiana to win a Grade 1 race when he dominated the Woody Stephens at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y. That the colt did it in particularly impressive style was just the icing on the cake for first-time Grade 1-winning breeders Keith and Ginger Myers.
The proprietors of Coteau Grove Farm in Sunset, La., may not have watched the race live, but they were beyond thrilled to see their years of patience and faith in good people rewarded at the sport's top levels.
One of those good people is bloodstock agent Andrew Cary, employed by the Myers' since 2014. In fact, No Parole's dam, Plus One, was only the second mare Cary purchased for the couple, plucking her out of the 2014 Keeneland November sale for $67,000.

No Parole Achieves First Grade 1 Win for Coteau Grove
"It was an awesome day," said bloodstock agent Andrew Cary, who helped the Violence colt's breeders, Keith and Ginger Myers, build their Louisiana-based breeding operation beginning in 2014. The Myers, who own and operate Coteau Grove Farms in Louisiana, began racing in 2008 before re-configuring their strategy to prioritize breeding.
